Lindsay Lohan out as star in Lovelace biopic

NOT PLAYING Linda Lovelace may be the best thing that ever happened to Lindsay Lohan.
Aside from rehab, that is.

Although Tattle was unconvinced the Lovelace biopic "Inferno" was ever going to happen - with or without Lindsay - writer-director Matthew Wilder now says his production team is negotiating with another actress and will make an announcement soon.

(People magazine says Malin Akerman of "The Heartbreak Kid" has agreed to take on the role.)

With any casting change there's always oodles of speculation, but casts change in movies that haven't been greenlit more often than Lindsay changes lawyers.

Some media reports say Lindsay quit to focus on her court-ordered rehab for drug addiction (that's Lindsay's version); others say Wilder wanted her replaced as she may have been uninsurable (that's his version).

Whatever the reason, Lindsay can now try to get a role in a sitcom like we've been suggesting - she needs to do something light - and try to get her career back on track with regular hours and regular castmates plus an opportunity to live at home and go to rehab meetings.

Lindsay is expected to be in rehab in Southern California until at least Jan. 3.

Another positive for Lindsay is that she and her annoying, fame-whore father, Michael, seem to be making progress.

According to TMZ.com, father and daughter spent the entire week together at the Betty Ford Clinic as part of family week. Each attended therapy sessions, first individually and then together.

TMZ says Michael, Lindsay and Betty Ford counselors want Lindsay's annoying, fame-whore mother, Dina, to join them for sessions at next month's family week.

So far no word from Dina except that she doesn't want to attend any sessions with Michael.

If ever two people needed sessions together . . .

As for Thanksgiving, since Lindsay will not be allowed to leave California, TMZ says she'll be talking turkey with her daddy.

Michael wants Dina and the other Lohan kids to join them, but Dina is not yet ready for detente.

Besides, having the two of them and a carving instrument in the same room seems unnecessarily risky.

Snooki Slams Kim Kardashian — She Was Rude To Skip My Birthday Party!

Snooki celebrated her big day at NYC hot spot Pacha, but was apparently none too happy the reality star was a no show!

It looks like Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi may be creating drama with a pretty big reality star — Kim Kardashian! While celebrating her 23rd birthday at NYC club Pacha, the Jersey Shore star apparently told a friend, “it was rude,” for Kim to skip the party according to Radar Online. Ummm, did you really expect her to stop by Snooks?

Snooki did manage to drag out a crowd that included Sean Kingston, Kat de Luna and cast mate Jennifer ‘J-Woww’ Farley and enjoyed a personalized cake from the boys of Cake Boss.

One reason Kim may have been a no-show, she and sisters Khloe and Kourtney ran into some trouble when they skipped out early from a Mastercard event held at the same hotspot!

Eva Longoria: More Bad News

It’s no secret she’s having a rough week, and now it is being reported that Eva Longoria is out a hosting gig too.

Several weeks ago it was announced that the “Desperate Housewives” star would be hosting the annual ALMA Awards, as she does each year, but turns out this year’s show has been canceled.

One of the show’s producers, Delia de la Vara, told Latina Magazine, "We're working toward a 2011 fall broadcast of the show during Hispanic Heritage Month.”

She continued, "Eva's been part of our core team on the production for the ALMAs, so she will be a part of the awards as she has been for the past four years."

"[This is] the first thing I've ever won!" she told MTV back then soon after exiting the stage. "Except for when I was in high school, and I won the award for 'Most likely to be a serial killer,' which I have not fulfilled yet - just wait for my breakdown."

Tila Claims Innocence In Murder Plot

Tila Tequila is a lot of things, but she claims that a murderer is not one of them!

The reality star is in a legal battle with paparazzo Garry Sun, who claims she sent men to kill him. Tila is denying those claims, but most of all, she is pissed that he insinuated that they were romantically involved.

She is suing Sun for defamation and breaching a confidentiality agreement. Her legal docs clearly state, "[Garry] is not an ex-boyfriend."

Tila is asking for unspecified damages.

Taylor Swift Album Is a Sales Triumph

In the diminished world of the music business, where album sales have plunged by more than 50 percent in the last decade, genuine blockbusters are an endangered species. But this week the recording industry got a rare bit of good news with the unmitigated triumph of Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now.”

The album, the third and latest by Ms. Swift — still a month shy of her 21st birthday — sold 1,047,000 copies in the United States in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, making it the fastest-selling new record in five years. It is also the first to get opening-week sales of a million since Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III,” which squeezed over the line in 2008 with 1,006,000.

On Wednesday, after several days of uncharacteristic silence on her Twitter feed, Ms. Swift wrote to her 4.5 million followers: “I ...Can’t... Believe ... This ... You guys have absolutely lit up my world. Thank you.”

Selling a million records in one week has always been big news; according to Billboard it has happened only 16 times since 1991. But Ms. Swift’s tally was orders of magnitude greater than anything else now in stores. Last week “Speak Now” sold more than the next 61 titles on the chart combined, and almost 11 times more than its nearest competitor, Sugarland’s “Incredible Machine” (Mercury Nashville), which had 89,000. “Speak Now” accounted for 18 percent of all album sales last week, and individual tracks from it have been downloaded 2.5 million times.

Ms. Taylor’s success has capped a notable year for country music, with a streak of recent No. 1’s on the Billboard album chart and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” the second-best seller of the year so far. But as many in the music industry see it, “Speak Now” proves that Ms. Swift has transcended the limitations of genre and become a pop megastar, period, with even apparent setbacks — like Kanye West’s outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards last year — ultimately working to expand her celebrity.

“Her songwriting appeals to the broadest demo of music buyers right now: teens,” said Ken Ehrlich, the longtime producer of the Grammy Awards. “And she’s incredibly positive and nonthreatening. Having Kanye confront her added millions of people on her side, even people who didn’t see the incident on MTV but saw it repeated endlessly after the show.”

Ms. Swift deserves most of the credit for her success of course. This year she won four Grammys, including album of the year, and critics have mostly praised her new album, calling it canny, catchy country-pop about growing up in public. A master blogger and Twitterer, she has established herself as a prime star for the social media age.

“She’s writing her life story with a series of songs, carrying us from her teenage years into her 20s,” said Jim Donio, president of the National Association of Recording Merchandisers, which represents music retailers. “She has made herself accessible, utilizing all the tools of the modern marketplace. It’s an interesting creative story and an interesting marketing story.”

To promote the album Ms. Swift’s label, Big Machine, had an extensive and high-profile marketing campaign, parts of which were in the works for as long as two years, said Scott Borchetta, the label’s president. Target offered a deluxe version of the album at its stores, supporting it with television commercials, and she held a literacy event that was broadcast to 25,000 classrooms. Last week Ms. Swift blitzed through the network TV talk shows, gave a private performance for contest winners that was broadcast online, and even played a semiprivate show at a JetBlue terminal at Kennedy International Airport in New York.

In an interview on Tuesday, as news of the album’s sales spread through the industry, Mr. Borchetta praised both his marketing plan and his artist. “It’s one thing to have a plan,” he said. “But we have the artist and the music to back it up.”

Perhaps the clearest sign that the music industry as a whole — and Nashville in particular — has embraced Ms. Swift as a new force to be reckoned with is that competing record labels have scheduled a wave of high-profile country releases for the last few months of the year, hoping that some of the popularity of “Speak Now” will rub off.

This week Brad Paisley released a hits collection, next week comes a new one from Reba McEntire, and the week after brings two more big country names, Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts (also on Big Machine). In recent weeks, much-awaited titles by Sugarland, the Zac Brown Band and Toby Keith have also come out.

“The reality is, when you have a hit album, it brings people into the stores,” said David Ross, editor and publisher of the country trade magazine Music Row. “When the traffic is going to grow, you want to be there.”

How long Ms. Swift can dominate the chart, though, is unclear. Healthy numbers are predicted for the new Susan Boyle album, out on Tuesday, and on Nov. 22 there are great expectations for Ms. Swift’s old nemesis: Kanye West.

Heidi & Spencer to file for Bankruptcy

HEIDI MONTAG and SPENCER PRATT are considering filing for bankruptcy after frittering away their entire multi-million dollar fortune.

The newly-reunited couple, who filed for a divorce dismissal in September (10), claim they owe $2 million (£1.3 million) in taxes and have been forced to move out of their luxurious California home, taking up residence with Pratt's parents.

The Hills stars claim they wasted $10 million (£6.7 million) on various extravagances including Montag's disastrous pop career and her numerous cosmetic surgeries, as well as six cars, designer clothes and trips on private jets.

And Pratt admits they should have been more careful with their money, telling Life & Style magazine, "We were immature, worrying too much about the famous part instead of the actual business part. In hindsight, we shouldn't have spent any of our money. We should have been low-key and saved. We spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and I've looked into unemployment checks.

"We thought The Hills was going to be like 90210 and we'd have another five to 10 years... Our cast was a bit boring and snoozeworthy... No wonder we got cancelled... My parents are my lifeline."

Tila Tequila Sex Tape Extortion Case Loss; Pictures Exposed Online (Photos)

Looks like some photos from the alleged Tila Tequila sex tape and a video snippet has made its way online. Tila Tequila previously made claims that an ex-boyfriend was trying to extort 75K from her and she ranted online, as reported on HipHopRx.com.

On Thursday, the celebrity socialite went to court but lost, RadarOnline reported. The judge felt that the Myspace celebrity, MTV star and model is always exploiting her sexuality and rejected the argument at the hearing.

Meanwhile, check out a few photos of Tila Tequila who looks to be romping some man and photos of her lying topless on the beach. Hopefully she didn’t get some poor dude to agree to do this just for the sake of publicity.

In August, Tila Tequila was attacked by a booing crowd of Juggalo fans who slapped her upside the head with feces, bottles, stones and lit firecrackers. Her approval rating was down by that much and many know that she’ll do just about anything to get your watchful eyes.

Mariah Carey confirms the rumor

You know how some secrets aren't really secrets until the object of the secret confirms the heretofore not-very-secret information and then it's blasted all over the planet in terms like, "the secret finally is out"? You know how that happens, especially among the oh-so-discreet denizens of Celebrityville? Well, the monthslong not-so-secret secret of Mariah Carey's being with child has been verified by Carey herself in an interview with Access Hollywood, part of which was excerpted Thursday on NBC's Today show. Said Carey in a precise style that politicians would do well to copy, "Yes, we are pregnant, this is true." She then added, "It's been a long journey, but it's been tough because I have been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy, and that was not easy." That journey was made painfully long, she revealed, by the miscarriage she suffered not long after she and her husband, America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon, married in 2008. Here's wishing them the best.

Disney star Demi Lovato enters rehab

Another Disney star is going down an uncertain path.

Sonny with a Chance star Demi Lovato left her tour with the Jonas Brothers early to ``seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues,'' according to a statement from her reps. The ``issues'' were not revealed, but according to widespread media reports, Lovato, 18, is dealing with eating disorders and cutting.

The AP reports Demi was also a victim of bullying and was home-schooled because of it.
