Victoria Beckham on body mission

Victoria Beckham is on a mission to regain her pre-pregnancy body, according to a source.
The former Spice Girl gave birth to baby daughter Harper in July, and has reportedly adopted a strict diet following the birth.
Victoria is still keen to tone up.
''Victoria’s told her inner circle she’s still on a mission to get back to her best again,'' a source told Closer magazine.
''She’s back to her no-carbs, protein-only diet.''
Victoria won Designer Brand Of The Year at the British Fashion Awards in November. The star is said to have put extra care into her diet before appearing at the prestigious fashion event.
''She was barely eating during the week running up to the fashion awards. Her meals consist of a handful of nuts and berries and fish and salad for dinner,'' the source added.
''She also goes running every day.''

Perry named MTV artist of the year

Katy Perry's run of No.1 singles has earned her the distinction of becoming MTV's first artist of the year.

Perry topped Adele after a spirited discussion among MTV's internal panel of experts, the network said Thursday. Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" was chosen top song of 2011, said Amy Doyle, the network's chief of music programming.

MTV also declared Skrillex its electronic dance music artist of the year over David Guetta.

Different parts of MTV would make "best of" lists in the past, but the network wanted to establish a franchise that brought all its online and TV arms together and emphasised MTV's music roots, Doyle said. The network, established in 1981, hopes it becomes an annual thing.

Seven panelists made the final choice, and their deliberations were featured in MTV programming this week.

Rolling in the Deep was an obvious selection as top song, Doyle said. Runners-up were Nicki Minaj's Super Bass and Rihanna's We Found Love.

"I loved the song the moment I wrote it," Adele said. "The melody and the beat added some conviction to it. I think that's why people connected with it."

Perry's achievement of tying Michael Jackson's "Bad" as the only albums to yield five No. 1 singles was particularly impressive, Doyle said. Along with the title cut, California Gurls, E.T., Firework" and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) all topped the charts. She's trying to beat the record with the current single The One That Got Away.

"You just really felt her presence in pop culture throughout the year," Doyle said.

Skrillex, whose real name is Sonny Moore, describes his music as a combination of "dubstep, electro and glitch." MTV included the category of best electronic dance music artist to pay tribute to the way the style is taking off with its young viewers, she said.

MTV also asked its viewers to vote on their choice of the best live performances shown on MTV all year. Their choice was "Hurricane" by Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Martin says Gaga is better than him

Chris Martin thinks Lady Gaga is a better songwriter than him.

The Coldplay frontman is famed for masterminding the lyrics behind the band's string of hit songs. Despite his musical talent, Chris insists Gaga is far superior.

"She's very sweet. I think what undercuts it all, though, is that she's talented and she writes everything," he told British newspaper The Sun.

"I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses."

It was revealed last week that BRITs producers are lining up the first live performance of Coldplay's song Princess of China. The track features Rihanna and is from the band's new album Mylo Xyloto. Chris is unsure as to whether the international pop star will perform on stage with them in February.

"I'd like to but she's got her choice of everybody, so it depends on where we come on her list," he explained.

Chris has two children - Apple and Moses - with his Hollywood star wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. The musician has been so busy with his career of late that he hasn't prepared for the festive period yet.

"I haven't even thought about Christmas - it's in two weeks' time," he chimed.

Hogan sues ex-wife over gay claims

Hulk Hogan is suing his ex-wife for defamation, saying her claims that he had an affair with fellow wrestler Brutus Beefcake are "ridiculous" and "insane".

Hogan, whose real name is Terrance Gene Bollea, filed the lawsuit against his ex-wife Linda Bollea in Florida last week over claims she made in her book Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes, or while promoting it, that he was violent and had affairs with men.

She claimed he had an affair with wrestler Edward Leslie, known in the ring as Brutus Beefcake, The Booty Man and Dizzy Hogan, who began his career with Hulk Hogan and was often billed as his brother.

Hogan told Us Weekly he was baffled by the claims.

"After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I'd heard everything I could hear in the courtroom," he said.

"Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual.

"If any of that was true, I would admit it, and [if] I was a homosexual I would embrace it.

"It's just so crazy to hear, so I have a real problem with it.

"If you're going to say I'm something that I'm not to try to ruin my career and my livelihood ... I have to answer her back.

"It's so ridiculous. I don't mean to laugh about it, because it's not funny. But it's insane. It doesn't make any sense to me."

The 18-page lawsuit claimed Ms Bollea wrote the book to help revive her career.

Hulk Hogan said the claims harmed his reputation and was demanding a jury trial and a halt to his ex-wife's comments.

The couple have two children, 23-year-old Brooke and 21-year-old Nick, and the family was the focus of reality show Hogan Knows Best.

Their 2007 divorce was public and notoriously acrimonious, with Ms Bollea doing several media interviews detailing her allegations of domestic violence, which Hogan refuted.

According to Florida's St Petersburg Times she received more than 70 per cent of the couple's assets in their recent divorce settlement.

She also got 40 per cent ownership of his various companies, kept a Mercedes-Benz, a Cadillac Escalade, a Corvette, a Rolls-Royce.

Hulk Hogan has since remarried.
